Basic Uses
The Gypsemna’s TUFF (TF – 12.5mm) Type X Gypsum Board is used for interior walls and ceilings in all buildings categories applications requiring extended impact, sound block and fire ratings. Is it likely that heavy objects could strike or penetrate the wall, will hard objects potentially drag along the wall surface? This impact and abuse -resistant gypsum board is designed for use in areas prone to cavity penetration and in wall assemblies where surface abrasion is a concern, such as gymnasiums, correctional facilities, schools and hospitals, corridors, entryways, lobby areas and warehouses, and in addition it has fiberglass mesh embedded into the core, providing even more impact/penetration resistance. It can be used for new construction or renovations steel framing. The boards are typically screwed to studs spaced maximum 24″ (610 mm) also can be applied by laminating or with the use of an adhesive.
